Hey Susan. Experiment with a crop that removes everything from the left of this marker. Helps to get rid of that blown sky. Look at using the contrast/clarity to give the image some more ‘pop’ as it feels a little ‘washed out’ at the moment. Lovely candid moment with the child and horse! Nice one! Dave

Thanks,  Dave.   I like the crop suggestion.  Will work on the contrast/clarity as well.  I appreciate your input.

I will add that this is the type of scene/shot that I would keep taking multiple shots just waiting for that ‘magic one’ were everything comes together i.e. I would love it if her eyes were either looking at me or the horses head…..something you cant plan, just have to hope for!! Dave

I would like to see the horse’s head up and looking at you or to the side, or even brought in to the little girl’s body. Would also like to see leather on him, whether it be a bridle or a leather halter does not matter. Nylon isn’t flattering for pictures.

I would also like to see the girl’s wardrobe thought out a little more. Is she going to go riding? Is she helping with chores? Moving him to another paddock? Give her a lead rope, pose her around the horse. Get her to stand still, hook her close hand on the bridle to help hold his head around her and put the end of the lead in her far hand.
