Kudos to my wife for being my model. :) Off camera speed light with an F-Stoppers disc. Disk was touching the top of the lens.

For a second I wasn’t sure what you meant by “Disc was touching the top of the lens”, and then I wrapped my brain around it. A smart way to create flat lighting! However, I do still see enough shadows that give the image a “deer in the headlights” feel, so I would say that if at all possible I would have liked to see just a little bit of fill coming from beneath.  Maybe angle the flash disk downward ever so slightly, and then place a small silver reflector just under the lens. (Just thinking out loud, dunno if  that would actually work. But hey, that’s what spouse models and experimentation are for!) Keep it up Shannon!
