Fantastic light, processing, and overall a strong portrait. I don’t know if I like the “pushing this tree out of the photo” pose, however, because well that’s kinda what it looks like haha, she’s pushing the tree. Would it have looked better if she’d left the one hand at her side, elbow slightly bent? Either that or simply lower the hand a little bit, and only touch the tree with fingertips, instead of full palm.

Also it looks like there’s a half-blink going on here, I don’t know if that is something natural or something that could have been avoided. I’ve experienced plenty of half-blink subjects, and sometimes I wind up just photoshopping one eye onto the other for straightforward portraits like this. Only if they want to make a huge print, that is. As a proof it’s great! Great skin tone processing too by the way.

Is the hand position any better on this one? I see her fingers should have been more relaxed but is the hand still positioned too high?

Here is another from that shoot… it was not a planned shoot, just decided to play in the fog and my daughter decided to be my model.
