Nicely done on the spot metering, Luis! Nailed the exposure, despite a very bright sky and various other tones that might have competed for attention had you used matrix  / evaluative instead.

On the subject of an actual critique of the photo itself, I’m noticing that her eye level is just slightly below the middle line of the photo, which to me causes the overall composition to fight for attention just a little bit. In other words, I would have framed her eye level to be just slightly above the middle line of the photo, and that would have allowed the image to flow more naturally.

Pin sharp on those eyes! Nice one and not easy at f1.8. Dave

Appreciate you were looking at ‘assignment’ here but it’s worth analysing your backgrounds and ask how they affect your image. To me, when you have ‘strong structural’ lines like this plant, (a cool subject to photograph in its own right?) it can compete for attention with your main subject, the girl. Sometimes ‘less is more’ in photography and (for me at least) this is one of those times. Love the expression on the child…nice and natural and that would’ve been down to you and your interaction with her! Nice one! Dave
