    I think shifting your angle so you can see just a bit more of the bride. We lack context if we can’t see her. If this was a shot purely focused on the dad then maybe switching over to portrait orientation and then coming around to the front to get more of his face in frame to focus on the emotion.

    I really like everything about this accept for the placement of the bride behind him. I think you description is exactly what this photo conveys. The colors are beautiful. This feels timeless to me.

    For me at least if you ‘take away’ your description, are we left understanding the image without words? Sadly not (not meant rudely!) If he had a tear in his eye, looking at his daughter with her slightly out of focus (means you shifting position a little) then we have an image that speaks without words. Dave
