New Workshop! Lighting 3 | Advanced Off Camera Flash

Show Critique
First try at the V-up pose...just in time for these casual engagement shots. I completely forgot about hand/arm positions.

What to do with hands is always the hardest question. I think your best bet here would be to have them move their hands up into the frame. If they’re in a relationship having their hand on the other’s chest is great, if not there are options like handshakes, high fives, pockets, and introducing props for them to hold/rest on. Nice shot with good colours and sharpness, the white thing in the background is annoying though and could probably be cloned out. Love the setting otherwise.

I wish the hands weren’t chopped like that.. The background is a bit busy! on the positive side, their smile looks great and your exposure/lighting is spot on.. Also, Is that Sanjay Gupta on the left?

I see the resemblance, but not..it’s not Sanjay Gupta. Thanks for your comments on background (someone else really liked it…I’m torn myself) and yes I’m upset about the chopped off hands. I’m very new to posing and realize the many different parts to direct or remember to keep in the frame.

I agree with Bill on everything, though the background especially. You could try cropping in further, so the hands don’t look specifically chopped.

Your tips on what to do with hands is very much appreciated. I’m very new to posing and realize the many different parts to direct or remember to keep in the frame.

I love that they both have dimples, haha! I would just ask them to close the gap here.
