Hi Giorgio, thanks for sharing this image! The moment, the pose, is beautiful. Well done! I love the rich tones in general and I think you nailed the overall warmth and tones.

However, I will say that usually, edgy, modern flash doesn’t go well with the slightly vintage, faded processing of shadows. The wireless flash and popping contrast (also the modern, fashionable pose) give the image a very current, digital era vibe, but the slight faded to the shadows makes you wonder if the image was either shot on film, or processed incorrectly.

I do think you have approached the tones very carefully, though, and achieved a great balance with the filmic feel in the shadows being very subtle and tasteful. So, keep experimenting, and develop your style along these lines!

Your comment are really useful, I love filmic feel but your are right saying that hard shadows and vintage effect in the same picture, are little bit strange. I guess I’ll remove the vintage effects (because I can’t change the light :D ).

The one other thing I’ll mention is that the backflash is a bit hot on the ground here; I don’t mind a little bit of light to help the silhouette effect, but this looks near-white and so I’d probably recommend angling the flash up a bit, or putting a moderate grid on it so that there’s still a bit of spill but not as much…
