Thanks for sharing this image, Dhruv! Very clean and professional lighting, well-positioned on the key light, and fantastic job on the processing of skin tones as well as the light and shadow. Loving the moody feel to it overall…

I’m not sure if it would have been possible, but I kind of feel like it’s unfortunate that the background bokeh ends so abruptly here. I wish that this background texture could have extended further down, or tapered off more slowly. Again, I’m not sure if that was possible, I understand sometimes we only have so much we can work with in terms of a backdrop…

I do think that being able to see just a faint outline of her head around this area would have helped give them shape; the fact that her head and arm truly vanish into the darkness isn’t totally a bad thing, but it could be distracting to some viewers. I’d consider adding a faint kicker / hair light from high and to the right-rear of the subjects, with a snoot or grid, with a very low power to just barely kiss some light into the scene.

I think his pose would have been just a touch more romantic if his gaze were going less towards their arms, and more towards her shoulder or cheek. So, just a slight change in the direction of his face overall.

The pose of “touching the tummy” is a bit risky, because it can seem like a maternity pose, however it does work in this scene because the hands disappear into the shadows so quickly. Still, I might consider also trying a pose where he is hugging her above her chest, and her arm is folding up to hold his forearm. Alternately, he could just put his hand on her waist.

Thank you so much Matthew, i will take all the points of posing into consideration :) and for background actually there was no shimmer on this side(the left side) i added it via clone stamp and i know it isn’t that pretty of a job as i was not able to sample the ending. For extra light we actually had very less time to get the shoot done, around 10-15 mins for a variety of the poses and i generally also don’t use much of hair light but will keep it in mind to add it next time. Again thank you so much, really appreciate your reviews :)
