What a beautiful shot! The light is amazing, the scene and the whole moment are really natural, the exposure and processing are beautiful.

My main critique is that the shadow side of the face is just a tiny bit lacking in detail, and although there is a faint catchlight in the shadowed eye, I do wish that more sun were catching both eyes equally. But, such is a candid moment! It might have been possible to step to your left and try and get Daisy to look at you again, but maybe not. Simply being aware of these things is what is valuable…

I can’t tell if this is a 2:3 or 4:5 crop here, but I feel like when there is environmental stuff like this that could possibly be a distraction, one thing that can work for me is to just add even more context to the scene; for example, un-crop the left and right edges of the scene, or zoom out a little bit, so that it allows the subject to be placed in the environment a little more. In general, the closer you zoom in, the more minor things like this become an actual distraction, but the more scene you include, the more they just become part of that scene…

honestly, I loke this shot more! Yeah, the subject is more off-center, but the added scene helps the weeds in front of the dog be less of a blemish and more just a part of the moment.
