This was a very underexposed shot. They were booty bumping down the bridge. I wasn't using any type of flash- though I should have been... (show more)

I think it’s a fun, joyous shot. I like it!

Thank you very much! They were a super fun couple- but honestly, they were my first “stranger” engagement session and I was nervous out of my mind! Now- her and I are great friends … she is just that awesome :)

Hi Becky! Thanks for sharing this image. I love the fun energy that they have! I think that natural light is perfectly fine for candid, natural moments like this. Just expose brightly like this, and maybe brighten the shadows in processing, and keep it natural! Personally, I’d only switch to flash if it were for a more formal shot of them smiling at the camera, and I wanted to ensure their faces were perfectly lit with a sparkle in their eyes, etc.

The one critique I can think of is that this lower angle causes the viewer’s eye to focus more on her stomach, at first, than their facial expressions. I would have loved to see this shot from their eye level, even if it meant that the sun was totally blowing into the shot instead of being behind the trees, or even if it meant that more background came into view. I think their strong energy could make the photo stand on its own two feet!
