This is a beautiful image, Abigail, thanks for sharing! I’m loving a lot about it, the light and the posing are both truly beautiful.

The main thing that I believe throws me off is the “upright” factor of the image itself. In short, since this is a top-down shot, it has a “floating” feel that causes the viewer to not really know which way is up. Or, the viewer may instinctively tilt their head to the left to try and see the subject “right-side up”. I think part of it is the flowers on the bottom, they’re also laying sideways, and so it causes the viewer to feel like the whole shot is rotated more accidentally than intentionally.

I think the easy solution here would have been to frame the whole shot just a /little/ bit more with the subject’s head slightly above the feet, visually in the composition that is. so that the viewer’s eye doesn’t instinctively lean to the left. Also, moving the flowers from the bottom edge to the left or right edge could help give the image a more upright feel, too.
