When you’re single, everyone asks when you are going to settle down. When you are dating, everyone asks when you’ll get engaged. When you’re engaged, everyone asks when you’ll be married. When you’re married everyone asks when you’re planning on having children. It’s just the way of life.
One couple got a bit tired of people asking when they would have a baby, and so they decided to have a photo shoot with their first born..dog. The idea came about in the car when Australian photographer Elisha Minnette and her friends Abby and Matt were on a long drive home from picking up Abby and Matt’s new furbaby, Humphry. Both being creatives who loves to throw around ideas, Abby and Elisha decided it would be really funny to do a photo shoot in the style of newborn portraits of their new Groodle (a Poodle/Golden Retriever).
The friends had a blast doing the fun shoot one Sunday afternoon and they have some adorable and hilarious photos to prove it. They never expected the photos to go viral, being picked up by numerous publications and TV stations. Of course, whenever something goes viral, everyone has an opinion on it, so Elisha wanted to make clear that, “this shoot was NOT done to ‘make fun of new parents’ or to make fun of parents who ‘overshare’ their baby photos on social media. People say we have way too much time on our hands. That is not the case, we just prefer to be creative outdoors rather than sit inside watching TV.”
