We were just talking earlier in the week about Sigma’s sample images, about how it’s hard to put too much confidence behind manufacturer released sample images/videos. We don’t know how many shots it took to get the ones we are seeing, what has been done to them (if anything) in post-processing, etc.

Still, I am sure many of you are interested in some more sample shots and video from Canon’s new 7D Mark II. Lucky for you all, today I can oblige. Canon Japan has released a bunch of new sample images and videos, all shot with the new 7D Mark II. You can view and download all of them from the Canon website, here. But I have posted a few of my favorite’s below.

.2 Sec Shutter, F/8, ISO 100, EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM Lens

1/2000th, F/4, ISO 320, EF 600mm F4L IS II USM

1/4000th, F/5.6, ISO 800, EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM

Like I said, it is always hard for me to get too excited looking at manufacturer released images. There are just too many variables that I don’t know. But I will say this for the samples that Canon has released, they look great (high res versions available for download on the Canon site).

It will be interesting to see what other samples come out and who gets a chance to review the camera before its expected arrival in November.

What are your thoughts on the sample images and video that Canon has released here? Do you think the 7D Mark II’s IQ is up to par? Leave a comment below!
