Obviously Canon has not moved into the power tool business but by the looks of their latest patent, it sure seems like they’ve ripped a page right out of the playbook of DeWalt or Ryobi power tool companies.
Does this new patent from Canon show a single battery grip to replace all previous grips?
Could this patent reveal a single unit that would use either two small LP-E6 type batteries or a single large LP-E19 battery as in the EOS 1D series cameras?
Is Canon looking to use this type of battery grip concept as a way of providing the additional power required by their future cameras? Will there be one grip to rule them all?
After watching my commentary video, let’s discuss the many possibilities in the comments below.
