Just as those of you who traveled to Las Vegas for WPPI are getting home, new rumors are coming in saying that it is possible that the new Canon 7D replacement could be announced at the next big industry related expo NAB 2014, also held in Vegas.

As WPPI is mainly targeted towards wedding and portrait photographers, NAB is mostly targeted towards videographers – including DSLR videographers. The rumor states that Canon will announce a new DSLR for NAB, and given the rumored specs regarding the Canon 7D replacement being a new flagship APS-C camera with exceptional and innovative new video features, it is not a stretch to think that NAB could be the ideal event to announce such a camera.

Obviously, this is just rumor, so don’t go selling your current gear quite yet. But if this is true, then I, for one, am really curious to see what treats Canon has in store for us with their new flagship APS-C camera.

What are your thoughts on this rumor? Do you agree with NAB being the perfect event to announce such a camera, or do you think Canon would be better served to announce it elsewhere? Share your opinion below to join the discussion.
