It is safe to say that, the Canon 5D Mark II essentially revolutionized independent film making. Over the past year or so, we have all witnessed Canon capitalizing on this momentum as they have been flexing their muscles in entering the professional video market. Now, since the 5D Mark II, Canon’s releases haven’t necessarily been revolutionary. But, they definitely have other camera makers like RED, ARRI and more on their toes.
Now, we get to see a hands on look at the new EOS C500, Canon’s new top-of-the-line 4K video solution, as well as the EOS-1DC (which also does 4K Video). While the C500 still carries a price tag of $30,000, the fact that Canon is now a part of this market is only going to continue to push down prices even further. I have to say, I am still waiting for Canon’s 4K RAW camera.
