Ryan Leak secretly planned his girlfriend Amanda Roman’s dream wedding for over a year before he proposed using her “Dream Wedding” Pinterest board as inspiration.
Last June, Ryan overheard Amanda telling a friend that it would be cool to get engaged and married on the same day and so using Amanda’s 220 pins on her Pinterest Board, he set out to make her dreams come true. Literally.
Although Amanda’s flight was cancelled, they finally got her on a flight to Miami under the pretense that they were helping friends move. Over a hundred of their family and friends were already there secretly waiting.
Five years after their first date, Ryan proposed to Amanda. When she said yes, he took her to the hotel lounge where their guest held up a sign that read, “TODAY?”
Amanda was then whisked off to get her hair and makeup done by her favorite hair and makeup artist, whom Ryan had flown in. He even had her dream dress on hand. Their wedding photographer, friend, Meshali Mitchell, was on hand to document the entire magical day.
“The day was even better than how I would have planned it. Realistically I never thought that I would be able to pull off some of the things I saw on Pinterest, but Ryan is a risk taker and he didn’t settle for my watered down version of my ‘dream wedding’ – he went for the gusto.” Amanda said.
Photographers seem to have a love/hate relationship with Pinterest, but as you can see Pinterest can be a valuable marketing resource and a great tool for creating “mood boards” for your clients, getting to know them better and helping them re-create their dream wedding.
