No, I am sorry to say that this is not the punchline to a really awful joke. Well, that is unless you consider Hasselblad’s Sony knock-off Stellar line a joke. If you ever felt even the slightest bit of interest in the RX100, I mean Stellar, then today is the Black Friday to end all Black Fridays.
Hasselblad Stellar $2300 Off
In all seriousness, if you have ever wanted something in your kit that was Hasselblad branded, but couldn’t afford 10k+ on a MF body than this is the deal for you! The RX100 was/is a killer camera, our own Kishore Sawh loves his. The reason these Hasselblad stellar reskins were mocked was because of the luxury price.
That said, is $999 still a lot for a two generation old RX100? Yes, but it is at least within the realm of convincing yourself it’s a good idea. Pretend you bought it when the RX100 first came out or something.
Anyways, for those interested, you can get the Stellar for just $999 right now over on B&H.
Other Black Friday Deals!
The Stellar isn’t the only deal worth checking out. B&H alone has a ton of deals that are worth looking into, and they are all available in one convenient location. The deal of the day today is $270 off the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 2014 Edition, a killer deal if you have been thinking about adding a tablet to your workflow.
We also have one other deal to share, our good friends over at DIY Photography have the Light Blaster on sale for just $84, after $15 off! Just enter code “BF14BLAST” at checkout over on the Lightblaster website.

Still to much money for a point and shoot camera.
I’ll take the RX100, which Sony are selling at £399, or £228 brand new on ebay.
I bought the RX100 when it first came out and customized it myself.
The handgrip is a good idea. I added a third party on.
The garish color scheme, not so much. I toned down and improved the feel of mine with black pistol grip tape.
I’ll stick with my RX100, thank you.
Oh, and my 500C. ;3^)
Killer handgrip. Want one on my Sony!
This looks more like a fire sale. This looks like a P&S camera.
If I wanted to use Hasselblad, I’d buy a used Hassy from a reputable reseller of used equipment. I want to get into medium format, but used prices for Hasselblad gear are like Leica used gear. I’d buy a Mamiya 645 or 67.
