Behind the Scenes Doctor Who Cover Shoot with Mark Harrison

By Jules Ebe on April 13th 2013

Veteran celebrity portrait photographer Mark Harrison has begun adding a new dimension to his photo shoots. He calls these short clips Augmented Reality films. He has begun doing them as an additional marketing and promotion tool for magazines to make that still image ‘come to life.’

“The idea was the moment after the cover photography is completed, they drop back into character.” ~ Mark Harrison

My favorite version thus far is his recent cover shoot for The Times Magazine with actors Matt Smith and Jenna-Louise Coleman from the television series Doctor Who. My inner geek is very, very happy.

Filmed using a Canon 5D Mark III during the last 45-minutes of the cover shoot.

This is great example of how adding creative video to your workflow can add another feature for your clients.
