Behind the Scenes of This Amazing Superman GoPro Powered Adventure

By Anthony Thurston on March 18th 2014

No doubt you may have seen this amazing video floating around today, it’s been making its way around the internets. The video features Superman flying around POV style, saving damsels, fighting crime, etc. If you haven’t seen it yet, it’s brilliant and you should check it out below.

Then there’s this awesome behind the scenes video that was also released, which shows you how the guys over at Corridor Digital produced this awesome video. This video was produced using some CGI, and greenscreen elements, but surprisingly, all of the actual video footage was shot with none other than a DJI Phantom II paired up with a GoPro Hero 3+ Black Edition. Take a look at how the video was produced via the behind the scenes video:

I was somewhat surprised by how simple this video was for them to put together. But then again, I do not mess around with SFX or anything like that in my video work so I really have no experience to base my thought process on. That being said, I do think it is amazing what drones like the DJI Phantom II are making possible with the help of the amazing GoPro action cameras.

Just think, going back even 10 years ago, a video like this would have been really expensive to produce and would not have been possible for such a low budget outfit. Granted the DJI Phantom II and GoPro gimbal setup is not what most would consider inexpensive, upwards of $1200 (GoPro Camera included), but given what the cost would have been 10 years ago, it’s a steal!
