Beautiful Light Spectacles from the 2013 Lyon Festival of Lights in France

By Tuan Tran on December 9th 2013

Every December the City of Lyon, France celebrates Virgin Mary with the Lyon Festival of Lights. The Festival illuminates the second largest city in France with beautiful light installations and projections throughout the cities historical monuments. Millions of citizens and tourists flock to this charming city to experience the lights and admire 80 artworks by 120 artists for free.

The Festival was as alive as its attendees, constantly changing over the four nights with transitioning color schemes and remarkable art pieces. The lights lit the parks and streets of Lyon, as well as giving historical buildings, tunnels, and bridges a makeover with imaginative projections. Music and sound effects help set the mood for these spectacles on those chilly winter nights.  The city of lights could not be done without the talented designers from all over the world that came to bring their imagination to life.

Here is a look at some of the vibrant spectacles from the Lyon Festival of Lights 2013.
