Back to the Future: Recreating lifes fondest memories

By Anthony Thurston on March 26th 2013

Have you ever felt nostalgia when looking at an old photo of yourself? Photographer Irina Werning has been shooting a photo project called back to the future that is based on recreating old photos of yourself – be it baby pictures, pre-teen , whatever.  The photos are really well done and look amazing.

I have included a few of them here to feature, but I have to highly recommend that you take a look at her website to see the rest of them. She began this project in 2010, and is continuing it to this day.

I am of the opinion that these are amazing works of art, bringing together the past with the present and creating memorable portraits for those involved that will last in their memory much longer than your standard portrait would. I simply wish I was creative enough to think of an idea like this on my own, haha.
