The capabilities of Photoshop have been rapidly increasing in what the user is capable of manipulating and the ease they are able achieve the look they want. Jee Young Lee, a photographer and artist, has gone against the norm and created astonishingly elaborate scenes within her small 360 x 410 x 240 cm studio that you would not believe were not altered with Photoshop.
With a great deal of patience and imagination, this young Korean artist brings to life extraordinary scenes that pull for her personal life and old Korean fables. It is not surprising that it often took her several weeks or months to piece these stages together. You will find the mastermind of this series in the photo somewhere, as these are a sort of self-portrait. Every photo has its own backstory that attempts to make sense of the realms she has put together.
Lee’s astonishing work will be on display from February 7 to March 7, 2014, at the OPIOM Gallery in Opio, France.
