Annie Leibovitz Talks About the Future of Professional Photographers at Cannes Lions 2013

By Ruth Dunn on June 19th 2013

Speaking at the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity, American photographer Annie Leibovitz discusses the continuing importance of the professional photographer’s role in an era where the internet and smartphones have made image sharing easier than ever.

Despite the prominence of image-sharing websites and smartphones, Leibovitz argues that this will not lead to a decrease in demand for high-quality stills photography. In her own words she says ‘the future of photography is stronger and better than ever […] In this day and age of things moving so so fast, we still long for things to stop.’
