Amazing Water Drop Animation Created from over 2000 Images

I came across this really neat video/animation today of a water drop falling. At first I thought that it was CGI, but was very impressed to learn that it was actually a stop motion animation created from images of over 2000 separate water drops.  Before I go on take a look at the video below:

Ok, now that you are done picking your jaw up off the floor can you join me in saying WOW? I think this is really cool. I mean I thought it was cool when I thought it was a CGI animation, but to find out it was all stop motion takes this to a coolness factor off the charts.

The video was created by Physalia Studio, who wrote an interesting blog post on the technical challenges overcome to create this video. You can read the full details on their blog, but I have included the “Making Of” video below. Really neat stuff.
