$1650 in Total Savings on Today’s Deal Dash

By Anthony Thurston on July 22nd 2015

This is our daily deals report where we will feature a deal, or deals, that we think you should know about. Today we have three deals for you, with some pretty significant savings across the board.

COMODO Orbit

The COMODO Orbit was a huge hit at WPPI in 2014, bursting on the scene as the gimbal craze was just kicking off. Some found the price of $1299 a little high, but the performance was clear. You can get your hands on one now for $900 off. It’s just $399; talk about incredible savings! But a limited quantity is available at this price, so jump on it now over on B&H here.

13.3″ MacBook Pro (Mid-2014)

mbp-2014

It’s hard to beat MacBook Pro in terms of mobile processing ability, ease of use, and screen quality. The 13.3″ Macbook Pro is no exception and offers an incredibly mobile, yet powerful, processing experience.

B&H has a deal for you today, $250 in savings, bringing your price down to $1250. If you are in the market for a new business laptop, this is a deal you should consider. Find it here.

Gitzo GK1582OT Ocean Traveler

gitzo-tripod

If you like shooting at the coast, you know how bad it can be for your tripods. The sand and salt water is not kind at all to these expensive pieces of equipment. If you do serious coast shooting, you likely have – or should have – a dedicated tripod for that purpose.

This Gitzo Ocean Traveler is designed specifically for shooting on the coast, and has been designed to keep the sand and salt out of where its not supposed to be. It’s an expensive tripod (normally around $1750), but today, you can grab one over on B&H for under $1250 – that is over $500 in savings! If you are interested, you can find the deal here.

Gulp! $1750 for a tripod. You could buy my Manfrotto 190Pro nine times for that. It (my 190) has taken 13 years of serious beating and is just fine, though due a strip and clean. You’ve got to have really bad GAS to pay almost two grand for a tripod.

I have a 190 as well and think that I’d just get a spare for the salt and sand..

I love my 190. It has traveled all over the world with me over the last 10 years and is still working.

Exactly, my 190 has been around the world, on alpine trips, and , yes, in the sea. It gets rinsed afterwards of course and is still going strong. I can’t imagine that I will replace it anytime soon.

Wow. One day I hope to be a successful enough photographer to justify purchasing a $1250 tripod… Until then, I will just continue to replace my $100 tripod every year or so due to wear and tear. My way maybe more expensive in the long run, but in the short run it keeps my wife happy….Lol
