Service Review – Soft Tofu 2.1 WordPress Blog Theme by Tofurious

The Tofurious WordPress blog theme, called Soft Tofu 2.1, is a popular and useful product released by the group of photographers offering SEO workshops, album templates, and other useful photographers tools. We tried it out the Tofurious WordPress theme on our personal blogs and wrote a few notes on it below.

Installation + Customization Instructions - Tofurious has included a very thorough set of video tutorials that aid the first time user in setting everything up and customizing the blog.
Image Display - The large, 850px-wide display of images in the Soft Tofu WordPress Theme presents your work at its fullest potential.
Drop-down Menus - The Menu system is intuitive and functional, with drop-down menus that make it easy to navigate the site.

AJAX - The commenting system is, at times, unreliable, and it doesn’t always display the comments. This is a common error with blogs utilizing AJAX
Upsell - In order to have some functions, you have to pay $30 to upgrade to their newest version of the blog. Features in this version include a Flash Banner and Twitter Updates.
No Footer - The sidebar is (with good reason), taken out to make room for the display of large images. However, most blogs without a sidebar make up part of the decreased navigation with a nice, functional footer.

Overall, this is a great blog theme that has helped hundreds of photography studios upgrade their blogs and their studio image. They’ve really taken the time to provide great content and detailed instructions. The minor flaws should not stop anyone from using this great tool for all types of photography.
