With all the turmoil that struck the genre of photojournalism this year [Rewind: Chicago Sun Times Fires Photographers], it is both refreshing and sobering to see all the amazing (and at times tragic) images that the highly-acclaimed Reuters Photo has featured for their annual “Photos of the Year” collection.
Photography had played important roles in documenting the history of our world and this year is no different. Here are some of the most profound images that caught our attention.
