Nikon Annoucement! New Mirrorless Camera, Nikon 1 – J2
Nikon has just announced their new camera to the “One” line up, the Nikon J2.
To anyone who wasn’t familiar with Nikon 1 Camera’s, these cameras were the size of point and shoots with interchangeable lenses, sporting a sensor size which has a 2.7x Crop Factor.
There was the V1 and J1, and the V1 was the more premium model with the main features being a higher resolution screen at the back, and a hot shoe for an external flash.
When the cameras got released last year, I loved the idea of it, but hated the price. I couldn’t justify spending money on one of these. I wanted a smaller body for my travels and nights out, and the V1 was very tempting, especially seeing as it has a Speedlight available for it. But the cost was just too much!
Over the past few months I have noticed the price for both V1 and J1 coming down quite a bit and now I see why.
There are a few improvements to the camera, but the main feature that appeals to me is the improved screen at the back.
Visit Nikon’s website for the full spec’s and leave a comment below to let me know what you think of the camera.
Do you currently own a Nikon One camera and do you think this is a worthy upgrade?
