Microsoft’s Surface Pro tablets had been catching some flack since it was discovered that the pens they come with would not work with pressure sensitivity in Photoshop. This was a big problem for graphic designers and photographers alike who were looking to make use of the Surface pro as more of a graphic tablet.

According to a recent tweet by Surface Pro executive Panos Panay a  new driver solving the issue was in beta testing. Soon after the tweet Wacom released a new Windows 8 driver, which may or may not be the same as the one that was referenced by the Microsoft Executive. The hope is that this new driver solves the problem and now allows for pressure sensitivity in Photoshop. I have been eyeing those surface tablets pretty closely, and now that this pen bug has been worked out it makes them all the more of an attractive option in a quickly inflating tablet market (assuming the driver does in fact fix the problem).

I mean who wouldn’t want to sit down anywhere to whip out your surface pro and get some photo editing done. It sounds like a match made in heaven, don’t you agree?
