New Canon 7D 2.0.X Firmware Upgrade Now Available!

Great news! Canon has just released the anticipated 2.0.X firmware upgrade for its venerable Canon 7D. It is definitely a worthy upgrade for Canon’s advanced APS-C DSLR.


Here are the list of major upgrades that are included with the new firmware:

  • Max Burst of 25 RAW images at 8 fps and up to 130 Large/Fine JPEG.
  • Compatibility with Canon GPS Receiver GP-E2.
  • Up to 64 levels of manual audio level adjustment for precise, optimized audio.
  • ISO Auto limit expanded up to ISO 6400 in M, P, Tv, Av, and B modes.
  • In-camera RAW image processing for parameters such as White Balance, Picture Style, Auto Lighting Optimizer, High ISO Noise Reduction, JPEG Quality, Color Space, Lens Peripheral Illumination Correction, Distortion Correction and Lens Aberration Correction.
  • In-camera JPEG image resizing with ability to resize Jpeg “L” and “M” images and save them as separate JPEG “M” and “S” images.
  • In-camera ratings of 0-5 stars.
  • Quick control during playback.
  • Customization of file names for the first four characters of the file name.
  • Custom time zone settings including daylight savings time compensation.
  • Faster scrolling of magnified images.

      Bug #1: It does not detect my battery grip, and thus only shows one battery installed.

        Hi Jake – download the zip file for Windows and when you unzip it you will find PDF files in various languages including English with full installation instructions.
