The iPhone 6s is certainly not the first phone to offer 4k capabilities, and whether you think it’s overkill to have 4k on a phone, nevertheless as phone makers seek to constantly outdo their competition, 4k on phones are now a thing. And as the most recent ‘thing,’ the iPhone 6s has been on our radar as of late. It’s been fun to watch what filmmakers and photographers are doing with the newest iteration from Apple.

One standout is the video you’ll see below. Created by the crew over at AmnesiArt, this 2-minute short film is shot entirely with an iPhone 6s using its new 4k feature. In it, you’ll see various cinematic techniques used, including time-lapse and slow motion shots of England’s capital city. Portraits of London takes you on a tour of some of the famous historical sites of the beautiful city. The team used three iPro lenses – macro, wide angle and telephoto to capture the footage – and edited the final product in Filmic Pro, an iPhone app. They noted that there wasn’t a need to color grade or de-noise the film.

Based in France, AmnesiArt is known for their beautiful travel films (we’ve featured their trek through Japan in this BTS interview here) and have a knack for showcasing the beauty of a city that everyone has seen either through their own travels or images through their work.
