Impact Quikbox Softbox Review by Neil Van Niekerk

Impact Quikbox

Neil Van Niekerk, author of Off-Camera Flash Techniques for Digital Photographers, a lighting book that I studied when I was first learning about off-camera lighting, has just came out with a nice little review of the Impact Quikbox 24×24″ Softbox, which a $135 speedlight pop-up softbox that is virtually identical to the more expensive $190 Lastolite Ezybox 24×24″ Softbox.

From his images, it looks like it’s a great product for the mobile strobist looking for a quick and beautiful off-camera light.

Be sure to read his review on NeilVN.com.

Many have discovered an even cheaper solution in the Cowboystudio 24″ foldable softbox with removable grid. I know of more than one wedding/engagement photographer using it regularly and it’s around $50.

I can vouch for the cowboy studio version being a good buy. They’re stuff can be hit and miss but for $50 I’ve definitely gotten my money’s worth out of that thing.
