Not sure if anyone will get mixed-up here, so to clarify, an f/8 aperture has half the DIAMETER of an f/4 aperture. However, it is correct that it lets it only a quarter the light, because the amount of light that can get in is proportionate to the AREA, which is pi times radius squared (i.e. proportionate to diameter squared).]]></description>
