Great article and I am finding and learning tons of useful information digging through this site as I await my D800 to arrive – the info is greatly appreciated. As soon as I get comfortable with the camera and plenty of shots, I’ll hit Lightroom and your fabulous preset system (1 at a time, you know)! For this article, it would be nice to include not only great photo examples of the points being made, but also photos that do the opposite of what is trying to be accomplished, just so the reader can see the difference. As useful as the good examples are, the bad ones can also prove useful.

That could be an interesting article… over used composition techniques, what they originally intended for and when they really should or could be used.

lol, Dutch Angle has to be one of the most abused compositional techniques out there. For some reason, new photographers equate dutch angle as creative. Fortunately, most grow out of it and only use it from time to time when called for.
